Café Chef

The Monocle Café is looking for a driven individual who is creative, proactive and has a flair for producing delicious fresh food. Our menu is small and perfectly formed, with Japanese and Scandinavian influences providing a unique and interesting selection of light bites and tasty snacks to eat in or take away. You will be working as part of a small team, so a friendly demeanour and can-do attitude is essential. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and preparing memorable dishes; those with a flair for Japanese food will be placed at the front of the queue. Attention to detail and efficiency are compulsory. You will be required to work closely with food – both its preparation and presentation – and keep your workspace in perfect condition at all times. Knowledge of HACCP and hygiene standards is a prerequisite. We offer excellent opportunities for career development and personal advancement. Senior Barista

The Monocle Café is looking for an exceptionally talented and professional Senior Barista, capable of producing a wide range of high-quality coffee in a fast-paced environment, whilst also delivering customer service with style and flair. You will be responsible for ensuring the day-to-day quality of the coffee and other drinks served, as well as assisting the manager with staff training, supplier relationships, product development and general maintenance of the coffee station. As the first point of contact for customers entering the café you will need to have great communication skills and the ability to make our regulars and new guests feel welcome and special – remembering their favourite drinks and recommending new ones. We can offer the chance to work at our numerous pop-ups in the UK and abroad, as well as great career advancement and promotion opportunities. You will perform all POS duties, front- and back-of-house functions, including opening, closing and cleaning, and co-ordinating with the company as necessary. Assistant Manager

The Monocle Café now has an opening for a standards-driven, ambitious and talented Assistant Manager. The role involves the day to day running of the café business, overseeing both the kitchen team and hosting the front of house.
